Tenants & Communities

As a building owner working to advance environmental and social initiatives within our portfolio of properties, Kimco collaborates with our tenants and communities. We are focused on creating resources to help our tenants improve their performance, as well as creating initiatives to engage with our communities.

Kimco is focused on creating resources to help our tenants improve their performance.

Together with the U.S. EPA's Energy Star® program, Kimco created a Tenant Sustainability Tip Sheet that is tailored to retail operators. The tips are separated into 4 categories - Energy, Waste, Water and a special section dedicated to Food Service. The recommendations feature low or no-cost measures that are feasible for most tenants, regardless of budget. Also included are helpful links to external resources and tools - such as Energy Star's Portfolio Manager® software.

We are dedicated to enriching the unique and diverse communities where we live, work, and do business - through partnership and giving.

Real estate is first and foremost a local business. For over 60 years, Kimco's shopping centers have been neighborhood hubs and gathering places - we are embedded into the fabric of the cities and towns where we operate, driven by our mission to create destinations for everyday living that inspire a sense of community.

As a good community member, it's important that we give back, and to empower our associates to give back as well. Just as each of our shopping centers are uniquely tailored to the communities we serve, we must tailor our giving strategy to serve the varying needs of our many communities. Through corporate donations, employee volunteerism, employee donation matches, local events, support for small businesses, industry participation, and other corporate programs, we support a variety of worthy causes that directly serve our diverse communities.

Our shopping centers are only as strong as the communities we serve, and we proudly do our part to ensure a bright future for communities across the country.
