Director of Multifamily Development
Caren Garfield joined Kimco Realty Corporation in March 2016 and is the Director of Multifamily Development for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Garfield oversees redevelopment and development for projects involving multifamily and/or mixed-use through the supervision of the feasibility, entitlement, design and construction process. Garfield brings 17 years of experience in multifamily acquisitions, development, investment, and capital markets.
Prior to joining Kimco, she was Vice President at MAC Realty Advisors, a multifamily real estate advisory firm where she was responsible for placing over a billion dollars in total capitalization for multifamily developments and acquisitions. She also was the senior acquisitions associate for a private equity fund investing life company and pension fund money in multifamily transactions nationwide. In addition, Garfield spent many years in multifamily and mixed-use development and was a Project Executive at Kettler, a Development Manager at Bozzuto, and Vice President at Bank of America Community Development Corporation, where collectively she entitled and developed over 3,000 multifamily units. Garfield earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin & Marshall College and Master of Urban Planning degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
